Here are some packing ideas for your next weekend getaway!

Packing ideas: 1/2 zip top | Matching pant | Naghedi tote | Sandals | Tank

Here are some packing ideas for your next weekend getaway!

This past week, I took a fun little trip with my husband, daughter and her boyfriend. We stayed in Yountville at the North Block Hotel, which I didn’t care for, and therefore didn’t take photos to share with you. My “authenticity promise” says that I can’t do that 😉 On our morning walks, I spotted the Estate at Yountville, and after poking around the property, I decided it would be a great place to stay next time. Between a last minute reservation at The French Laundry (on our first night there, I wandered in and asked for a table), amazing lunches at Oakville Grocery and a fun wine tasting at Cakebread Cellars, it truly was a memorable weekend.

Since many of us still have upcoming trips in the next couple of months, I thought I’d share a 4-day packing list with you. I try very hard to adhere to a color theme when packing lightly. So, this time it was centered around olive green (above photo), black, white and and orange. Sounds like a funny color combo, but keep reading below to see how it all turned out!

Packing list: All you need for 10 days in Europe!

15 days in a carryon! So … what’s the trick?

Where I didn’t stay … but should have!

Comfy but stylish travel outfit

Since this trip was a quick 90 minute airplane ride, I decided to go with white jeans and this fun new utility jacket. It worked out nicely because I was comfy, felt kind of cute upon landing, and wasn’t too hot or cold. My husband and I shared a suitcase (can you imagine?), so it’s the second time this aluminum one has gone on a trip. So far it’s super durable and has no scratches. On the way home, I wore the green 1/2 zip and matching pant above, which was also the right choice after four days of eating nonstop!

P.S. The utility jacket above is not brown — it’s more of a utility shade of green. See this photo

Dinners out

Susie: One-shoulder dress | Emily: Rhode dress

Other dress options

Vince slip dress: I bring this one on every vacation. Same with this Norma Kamali strapless dress

Karen Millen orange dress: see it here in this IG Reels video. Use code SUSIE20 for 20% off your order!

Wine tasting

Susie: Xirena dress | Dior slides | Emily: Amazon dress | Gucci slides

Xirena dresses are the best for warm weather. They’re light and perfect for every sunny vacation!

Casual lunches

Rails dress | Loewe tote | Wallet on chain | YSL sandals

I wore this Rails dress to Oakville Grocery — one of my favorite spots on the trip!

Other go-to outfit: J.Crew skirt | Tank, similar | White cotton shirt also here | Chloe tote (not pictured) | Comfy sandals (not pictured)

Pool day

J.Crew coverup | Becca swimsuit

Been wearing this J.Crew shirt cover-up for several years. It’s comfortable and goes with every swimsuit

Morning coffee runs

1/2 zip | Skirt | Sneakers

Lately my daughter Emily and I have been twinning with our tennis skirts, even thought neither of us has lifted a racquet! They’re perfect for warmer days, and a great alternative to shorts. I think the best options is this slimming one by Spanx, the Lululemon one (this and this is what we both wear), and this Vuori one with the matching hoodie.
