When I was working as a personal stylist at Nordstrom, one of the things I loved to do most was share ideas with my co-workers. We would always peek in each others rooms, often “borrowing” cool items from one another and it was really fun! Unfortunately, those days are long gone — but now I have my special Nordstrom6 stylist friends, and we trade ideas on a regular basis. This collaboration means a lot to me!

Today’s post is about 10 things Nordstrom stylists always recommend, without fail. We either own them, want them, or recommend them to everyone we talk to 🙂 After spending hours and hours trend shopping, trying on clothes and scouring online with these lovely ladies, I decided to compile a list of must-haves for you. And, if a group of stylists with a collective 100+ years of experience picked these items, you can trust that they’re really good! Cheers 🥂

#1 We stylists love the brand Farm Rio

Farm Rio dresses are perfect this time of year, and there are so many great options! Whether you’re looking for a romper like this, a longer midi-style dress like this or this, or shorter dress like this, you can’t go wrong. They also have an amazing swim collection, and I love this coverup and this one-piece swimsuit.

#2 We can’t imagine a wardrobe without white denim!

White denim can be tricky, but it’s a closet staple for many of us this time of year! Some of the best styles to choose include:

Frame — Le High Straight, Le Crop Mini Boot, and Le Brigette shorts

Paige — Cindy, Claudine and Laurel Canyon flares

Mother — Insider and Hustler are favorites

#3 You can’t have too many denim jackets

Denim jackets are one of those basics that go with absolutely everything! Whether it’s dresses, denim, shorts or athleisure, the list goes on. For a slightly oversized look, I love the Rails denim jacket. It’s an all-time favorite, and I have it in two colors! This AGOLDE style always sells out, and for an under $100 option, look at the Levi’s one I’m wearing above. For a little more fitted look, check out this white one from J.Crew or the best-selling L’Agence style (which runs big, so go up a size).

#4 We’re loving the Frame linen t-shirts right now

The Frame linen t-shirts have the nicest drape to them, and they’re another perfect summer staple. I used this striped one in the recent capsule wardrobe, and it makes a lot of great outfits. The green striped version is down below in the N6 Drop (I purchased it myself and love). For a basic style, look at this one — the color options are all so good!

Baseball hats are so chic right now, and besides hiding bad hair days, they take your outfits to a completely new level. Just yesterday, I spotted this cool girl on Instagram with a simple striped shirt, baseball hat and gold statement earrings. This hat by Rag & Bone is a favorite, and for a designer version, I’m in love with anything from Celine. And of course, you can’t go wrong with your favorite team style, like this!

#6 Metallic shoes go with everything

The metallic shoe trend is going strong. Whether you choose gold, silver or something in between, you’ll have a shoe that works with every summer outfit!

#7 Everyone is looking for special event dresses

It’s dress season! I recommend finding dresses that you can wear all season long to various events. Take for example the ALC Renzo dress — so beautiful, and the colors are absolutely gorgeous! If you’re in the mood to splurge, any Zimmermann dress is a favorite. For reference, I’m wearing a size 0 in the one above, and had alterations done on the sleeves and length. For a black basic, you can’t go wrong with the strapless one by Norma Kamali. The outfit possibilities are endless!

#8 Sneakers are the shoe of choice

Between Golden Goose, the retro Rag & Bone sneaker, or the all-white one by Sam Edelman, you’ll certainly be covered in the sneaker department. Below are some other favorites of this ultra-trendy, super comfy shoe.

A while back, I popped into the Nordstrom Beauty department for a little refresh. Thank goodness, my good friend and trusted resource Kirk was there to show me his top 10 picks. And, since he’s a beauty stylist, he knows what’s selling and what’s important for all of us to use in order to feel rested and refreshed! I’ve tried everything on the board (and love it all of course) with the exception of the Sisley lipstick — but I’ve heard it’s incredible.

#10 Wallets on a chain belong in everyone’s closets!

Typically, these small bags fit a lipstick, credit cards and sometimes even a phone (like the one above I’m carrying). I especially recommend getting ones with gold chains because they easily work for dressier events, as well as a casual happy hour!
