I went trend shopping in LA: check out my finds!
This past week, I took a work trip to Los Angeles with my So Susie team for some meetings, business brainstorming, trend shopping and people watching. These trips are fun and inspiring, and I always return home on idea overload! Some might ask, what exactly is “blog research” and why do you do it? Well, trend shopping, or “blog research” as I call it, is where I check out all our favorite stores to see the merchandise in person, hoping for some great finds.
As we all know, shopping online isn’t always easy, and seeing the product firsthand helps me select the items I’m going to feature on the blog. I always strive to remain authentic and honest, so the pieces that end up here are ones I’ve either purchased, helped someone with, tried on, or want to try. This is my “authenticity promise” to you!
It was a very successful trend shopping trip, and I’m excited to share with you my finds! Today’s post features shopping highlights, tips on what to buy from your favorite brands, and a few recent purchases. We covered A LOT of ground in three days, and got some helpful insider tips by popping in and asking the salespeople and managers some questions about fit, top sellers, etc. Something to note: whether you purchase straight from the brand or from stores I link to (Nordstrom, Saks, Neiman Marcus, Revolve, Intermix, Shopbop, and more), returns are ALL EASY! Trust me, I’ve purchased and made returns to all these places. Hope you enjoy the new style boards below!
P.S. If you’re new around here and want to stay up to date on all things stylish and the bound-to-sell-out items we ALL need, then subscribe here and never miss a post! You can also check out my Instagram Reels videos here. Cheers!

I visited two Zimmermann stores on this trip and they’re both stores incredible, though I prefer the one at Pacific Palisades. I purchased my first dress last fall, and wore it to a special event … and I felt extra pretty! Now I’m hooked. If you have any events coming up, I highly recommend this brand. Many of the dresses have beautiful details, like special buttons, silky belts and other unique trims. The yellow dress I’m wearing above is one of their best sellers (for reference, I’m wearing a size 0 and needed alterations). In the linen styles, like this one, I’m a size 1. They also have beautiful swimwear, and I tried this one and love it too! See a few other favorites below.
The Frame denim shop on Melrose Ave is always a first stop! It’s their showcase store, and Nicole the general manager is very kind — this is the second time we’ve met. She has the best tips, and I appreciate her spending time with me sharing product knowledge. One thing I learned is the Le Pixie refers to all styles that are cut for petites. I haven’t tried them yet, but I plan on doing so soon. Not only does Frame have the best denim, their clothing collections are always some of my favorites!
Collections: The Gillian blouse is a favorite, and on this trip I discovered it’s now available in a dress (here and here). I adore the new green collection, and this sandal and striped tee caught my eye.
Denim: You might like the white crop flare jeans with a slit, as well as this lighter wash crop flare and the palazzo style pant. The top selling jeans are the Le Crop mini boot, the Le High Straight. Everyone loves them!
Rag & Bone
We popped into the Rag & Bone store on Melrose Avenue, and asked about their top selling jean. The salesperson quickly responded that it’s the Logan in featherweight denim. In fact, they didn’t even have my size so I could try them on! She also mentioned that the plaid Slade blazer has been a top seller as well. Recently, I got a little Nordstrom intel, and the Peyton jean is the current top seller there. The Peyton flare is my new purchase, and it’s probably the jean that feels the most updated and cool! Other favorites include this shirt dress, this wool blazer, and this oversized shirt.
Trend shopping at Gucci
The Gucci store on Rodeo Drive was crazy busy! It’s beautiful, and the shoe selection is AMAZING. I tried on these wedge sandals for fun, and though I didn’t buy them, I still might 😉 I also have my eye on these gold/silver sandals — so pretty! Many many great finds at the Gucci store.
The Anine Bing store in Pacific Palisades was another favorite, and we ALL tried things on and made a purchase … except me 🙂 Everyone loved the sweatshirts, and the only reason I didn’t buy one is because the XXS is exclusively available online. The sweatshirts run roomy, but they’re soft, comfy and stylish. Also, we saw this new graphic tee in person, and this straw tote. All amazing.
Trend Shopping at Veronica Beard
The Veronica Beard store on Melrose Place is another favorite that I visit on every trip, particularly for trend shopping. I really like the paisley dress in the above style board, as well as these sparkly sandals. My new Instagram friend purchased this linen jacket and white dickey, and looked so pretty in them! Other favorites include this striped dress, this chambray dress and this wrap dress.
