Packing list: 12 must-haves for your next trip!

Packing List: Staud dress (I had it lengthened) | Larroude sandals | Loewe tote | Woodlark Hotel, Portland

Packing list: 12 must-haves for your next trip!

In a few days I’ll be headed to sunny Palm Springs for a week of relaxation … well, and a few hikes too 😉 I love this time of year when spring break rolls around, and since this is the last child in college, I managed to squeeze in one more family trip! We’re visiting Joshua Tree for a couple of days, then heading to downtown Palm Springs. It’s always a little tricky to pack for warmer weather when it’s still cold where you live, but I’m pretty excited about the fun outfits I created (and the new color inspo). They’re all inspired by this brand new bag that arrived today!

To make it easier for you to prepare for your trips, I’m sharing with you a handy packing list with the 12 must-haves you need in order to make travel easy and effortless. I’ve referred to a version of this list on many occasions, especially since I traveled more in 2022 than I ever have — almost monthly! All the items I discovered along the way are below, like the black scarf I take on every single trip, or the Beis Weekender bag that holds literally all your necessities. I did try 15 days in a carry-on … but it didn’t really work for me – hah! And what was the biggest game changer of all? Compression packing cubes! Keep reading to get a few ideas for your next trip — no matter where you’re going. Happy travels!

Packing list: 14 days in England

The perfect Italian summer vacation

As of late, January 2023

Susie’s packing list: 12 favorites for spring

Susie’s outfit: Rails top | Frame denim | Schutz sandals | Loewe tote

Top row: J.Crew cardigan | White t-shirt | Comfy J.Crew dress | Paige denim skirt

Middle row: Denim jacket | White jeans | Swimsuit | Caftan

Bottom row: White dress | Tote | Flat sandal | Mid-heel sandal | Fleece

The J.Crew cardigan and ATM t-shirt are always top choices, and you can wear them all year round. Same with a denim jacket (on sale today) — it’s a basic style that you’ll always use year after year. Since it often cools off in the evenings, I always bring a cute a sweatshirt – I’m bringing this navy one by Frank & Eileen.

Since we’re officially in spring now, dresses are my go-to for travel, and they must be comfortable and stylish! This brand new shirt style from Frank & Eileen is a best-seller. And this new striped dress is cute, and is also ideal for casual days. Both are perfect with sandals or sneakers

It’s always a good idea to give your swimsuits a little refresh, and this navy printed one caught my eye. For coverups, consider a caftan — talk about chic! I had one several years ago that I wore everywhere — either on vacation, or in my backyard. I always felt good in it! This new orange one by Tory Burch is super cute and will work over many different swimsuits.

This is the orange tote that just arrived, and I love the bright color. Surprisingly, orange works with many things and gives your outfits a pop of color. Now, all of a sudden, I’m seeing orange everywhere! I walked into Lululemon and picked up this sweatshirt, and it will be coming along as well.

Travel gear that actually works!

Susie’s outfit: Rails top | Paige denim | L’Agence Sandals | Beis Weekender | Tory Burch bucket bag

Top row:  Pickleball bag | Jewelry case | Scarf |

Middle row: Sunglasses | Baseball hat | Beis Weekender | Paravel luggage

Bottom row: Compression packing cubes | Sunglass holder | Makeup bag

These compression packing cubes are my #1 must-have while traveling, and they’re essential for staying organized while packing.

The Beis Weekender Bags sell out almost instantly and for good reason … they’re amazing! I use mine as a carry-on (it has a special trolley strap to slide on top of your suitcase), or for a quick weekend getaway.

This is my favorite makeup organizer. I take it on every trip because it’s easy to carry, and it keeps all your makeup and skincare products in one place and easy to see.

Similar to the J.Crew Cardigan, this scarf acts as a mini blanket on the plane — it’s cute too!

I love these monogrammed jewelry cases and pickleball bags by Mark & Graham. They both come in many different colors, and you can customize them to your liking.

Never leave home without a hat! A good hat protects you from the sun, works magic on bad hair days, and looks stylish too 🙂

Thank you for reading! xx
