March Drop: 6 Pieces You Need Now!

The style tip I wish I’d known earlier in life

Getting dressed on a daily basis can be tricky for most everyone I know … especially on the days when you want to look a little extra! We’re all busy, and we often gravitate towards the same thing day in and day out. At least, I know I do — and my outfit of choice at the moment continues to be a hoodie, jeans and sneakers 😉 But, making the extra effort feels so much better, and it’s quite easy … when you have the right pieces!

At Nordstrom, “Room 3” was a blank canvas for me — can you imagine having everything at your fingertips? It was so much fun, and my friends and clients loved seeing all the special items I’d selected for them. That’s when I learned this simple style tip: matching your top and bottom is the starting place for many great outfits. It works every time, and I certainly wish I’d known it earlier in life. It would have made getting dressed sooo much easier!

This past week, my Nordstrom Stylist friends and I announced our March “N6 Drop” (a monthly drop of six of our favorite, best-selling items). We selected our favorite denim, a chic blazer, the best bag and shoe combo, and more. Today’s post is about making good, solid everyday outfits, and the six pieces that will help you put them together. They’re super simple, very wearable, and I’m sure you’ll love them 🙂 Keep reading to see what they are, and of course, how to style them!

The must-have N6 Drop pieces, March 2023

1.State blue tank | Paige Claudine jeans | Btb rattan bag | Nordstrom black dress | Ivory blazer | Sam Edelman sandal

#1 Cinq à Sept Khloe blazer

Hands down, the Cinq à Sept Khloe blazer is a favorite. I’ve recommended it for several years, and many of you love it too. It can be worn most seasons, and the ruched sleeve detail makes it a bit more casual. I love it over dresses, and of course, denim. If you want a matching suit, which is so chic, check out the pant or short that’s also available in the same fabric. For reference, I wear the size 2 and if find it to run pretty true to size, maybe a touch big.

#2 Paige denim

Paige denim is a favorite brand, and the Claudine is a crop flare that’s flattering on everyone, even my tall friend Danielle. The only difference is I had mine hemmed, and she didn’t! I wrote a blog post earlier in the year called “9 things that both short and tall people can wear.” You might be surprised at all the things we both wear! If you love the brand Paige, check out the other top-sellers which include the Paige Cindy, a slim, straight leg jean. If you like flare jeans, the Laurel Canyon and Genevieve are favorites.

#3 Black casual dresses

Black dresses are wardrobe staples, and having several in your rotation is always a good idea! They’re easy to grab when you can’t think of anything to wear, and the jacket options are endless. For a casual spring outfit combo, try this Frame denim jacket, this straw bag and these casual sandals. For other black dress options, I love the Norma Kamali strapless one, and of course, the Vince slip dress is a go-to!

#4 Straw bags

The straw bag trend is still going strong, and it’s the perfect answer for almost every single outfit. If you’re up for a splurge, look at this Loewe one. I’ve worn it two summers in a row with these sandals. If you want an affordable version, check out this one — also super cute!

#5 Block heel sandals

I love a good 2-3″ block heel sandal, and they’re so versatile, you’ll wear them with everything: denim, dresses, shorts — the list goes on! My favorite for the last three years has been this Schutz one. I even purchased a second pair, and this year I’m considering adding black. For a little taller version, this Gucci one is another great option that works with both dresses and denim. See below for other ones I found for you!

#6 Silky tanks and camis

We all need layering pieces, and so try a silky tank or cami — whichever you’re most comfortable with. I wish I’d known earlier how much this piece would come in handy! I love the pretty blue one above, and it looks nice with Paige jeans. This $49 Halogen one is the exact shade of the ivory blazer, and is the combo I always reach for. Plus, it goes with many other things, and it’s bra friendly 😉
