Packing List: 12 must-haves for your next trip!

Next trip: Gray sweater, similar | Knit pants | Stuart Weitzman boots | Denim jacket | YSL tote | Amazon luggage

Packing list: 12 must-haves for your next trip!

When I was a little girl (aged 4 and 5), I traveled to England alone (!) to spend the summer with my grandparents. This life changing experience engrained in me a love of travel that has become part of who I am. Those were courageous decisions by my parents, and I’m so grateful for their foresight! Because of those trips, I established a deep connection to my grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins — all of whom still live in the UK. I’ve tried to continue this tradition with my kids, and we’re lucky to have taken many family trips to Europe. In a couple of weeks, we’re going again to celebrate my dad’s life, and I can’t wait ❤️

Today’s post gives you a handy packing list with the 12 must-haves you need in order to make travel easy and effortless. I’ve referred to this list on many occasions, especially since I traveled more in 2022 than I ever have — almost monthly! All the items I discovered along the way are below, like the black scarf I take on every single trip, or the Beis Weekender bag that holds a crazy amount of things. I even tried 15 days in a carry-on … which didn’t really work for me – hah! The biggest game changer of all? Compression packing cubes 😌 Keep reading to get a few ideas for your next trip — no matter where you’re going. Happy travels!

15 days in a carry-on, the trick that made it happen!

Did I pack perfectly? I think so!

Susie’s Packing List: 12 must-have favorites

Susie’s outfit: 1/2 zip Varley jacket | Beis Weekender bag | Leggings | Sneakers

Top row: Mango coatigan | ATM t-shirt | Mother denim | Rag & Bone jacketMiddle row: Oversized shirt | Black denim | Cashmere sweater | JoggerBottom row: Varley jacket | Chloe tote | Toteme boot | Sneaker | Amazon sweatshirt

The Mango coatigan is like a blanket-turned-cardigan. It’s so cozy! If you prefer a lightweight option, this cardigan is a great option.

The ATM t-shirt is my number one t-shirt choice, and you can wear it all year around. Same with the Vince cashmere weekend sweater — it’s a basic I’ve had for years, and it still looks good. An oversized poplin shirt is stylish and practical, and if you tie the Vince sweater over your shoulders, it will give you a little warmth — but you’ll look cool 😉

I love a faded blue jean, and this Mother one is my current favorite. Also really love this Mother Hustler jean in black. They both look great with pretty much anything! If you want a comfy travel pant, the Vuori jogger is the best!

For jacket options, this Rag & Bone blazer is perfect for travel since it’s a knit style and it’s comfortable. Bonus: you’ll also get the look and polish of a blazer. A lightweight puffer is also handy to take on a trip since it hardly takes up any room in your suitcase — this Varley one is so good!

Highly recommend the GG Ball Star sneakers for travel; they’re comfortable, and I’ve been wearing mine everywhere for months. This new Toteme boot is a huge splurge — it feels updated and casual, but also kind of dressy and just plain cool. Lastly, I always bring a tote to carry my iPad, papers, phone, water, snacks and travel essentials. This Chloe Woody style is practical, it stands up when you load, and it adds a little pattern to your outfits!

Travel gear that actually works

Susie’s Outfit: Cashmere wrap | Knit pant | Gucci bag | YSL sandals |

Top row: White suitcase | Jewelry case | Scarf | Middle row: Sunglasses | Baseball hat | Beis Weekender Bag | 3-piece suitcase | Bottom row: Compression packing cubes | Passport case & luggage tag | Makeup organizer

These compression packing cubes are my #1 must-have while traveling, and they’re essential for staying organized while packing.

The Beis Weekender Bags sell out almost instantly and for good reason … they’re amazing! I use mine as a carry-on (it has a special trolley strap to slide on top of your suitcase), or for a quick weekend getaway.

This is my favorite makeup organizer. I take it on every trip because it’s easy to carry, and it keeps all your makeup and skincare products in one place and easy to see.

Similar to the Mango Cardigan, this scarf acts as a mini blanket on the plane — it’s cute too!

I love these monogram jewelry case & travel tags by Mark & Graham. They both come in many different colors, and you can customize them to your liking.

I never leave home without a hat! A good hat protects you from the sun, works magic on bad hair days, and looks stylish too 🙂

Favorite hotel in LA: 1 West Hollywood

The 1 West Hollywood is all the things: beautifully designed, casual but cool, hip without being pretentious. The rooftop pool is stunning, with breathtaking views of LA and super comfy loungers. The lobby, with it exposed beams and greenery everywhere, is the perfect place to work, have a cocktail and a bite to eat, or just relax. This is my fourth time at this hotel, and I’m currently writing this post while sitting in a comfy wicker pool chair. So grateful to be here! ☀️
