These 10 outfit ideas will help you get through winter ❄️
There’s lots of pre-spring talk in the fashion world, which is always really exciting. But, we do still have eight weeks of winter to go! And, since many of us are just trying to get dressed on a daily basis, I thought I’d put together some outfit ideas that will make getting dressed simple and easy. Just this week, several people asked me what to wear to a concert, a wedding and on a long airplane trip. Well, throw some of these combos into a suitcase for a weekend getaway, put them on to run around town, or wear them to go out for lunch or dinner. They are versatile, easy and stylish. Hopefully, these 10 outfit ideas will help you get through winter!
Right now, as pre-spring collections start rolling in, you might notice the color palettes start to shift towards lighter, brighter and more vibrant colors. While that doesn’t mean our favorite black pieces are going away, it’s a good time to add a few transitional pieces like the Rails top I’m wearing above. For now, you can layer a cozy cardigan and scarf over it, and when the weather starts changing, just exchange the black jean for a white or écru style like this one. Keep reading to see some outfit inspo, as well as winter staples that work for everyone. Based on all of the sweet comments I get daily, you all love many of these items too. Cheers!

#1 Cozy sweatshirt
It’s not often I pay a crazy amount for a logo sweatshirt, but this one caught my eye, and since pink is a favorite color, I went for it! Other cool sweatshirts I love include this Anine Bing gray crew, this hoodie, this Nike pink one and and this Amazon one that I purchased as well. If you like sweatshirts, finding a cool one really switches up your outfits!
#2 Puffer coat
The Aritzia puffer coat is a hot item seen all over Instagram. Everyone loves it, including many celebrities I’ve seen featured in Who What Wear! There are lots of options, including different lengths, and the prettiest colors — check it out here. I also love this one and this Nike one.
#3 Leather jacket dressed up or down!
The Madewell leather jacket just won an LTK award for the most loved fashion favorite item! I can see why – it’s versatile, and you can dress it up or down! I find the jacket to run a little small, so size up, especially if you want to layer a hoodie under it! P.S. I’m not taking any more photos with Balenciaga bags as of this past December, so anything you see is an old photo, and I will not be listing or linking the bags.
#4 Best cardigan ever!
I know, I’m sounding like a broken record on this J.Crew cardigan, but it’s one of my most-reached for staples. It runs big, so go down at least one or two sizes. I’m wearing an XXS for reference. It’s currently on sale, and all three colors are really versatile — black, soft grey and camel.
#5 Work outfit
I’ve been getting lots of requests for work outfits, and it’s something I plan on sharing soon. The cropped trousers are a version of the top-selling Effortless Pant from Aritzia. Since they come in petite sizes, I snapped them up. If you need a good basic black trouser, the stretchy cotton one by Frame is a favorite. If you add slingbacks, you’ll look a little more updated than in a regular pump. I love this Sam Edelman one for a more affordable option.
#6 Travel outfit
Traveling seems to be on everyone’s mind, whether you’re dreaming, planning or actually going on vacation. I often wear jeans if the flight is short, but on longer flights I prefer to be cozy in leggings, joggers and sneakers. The Varley quilted jacket is coming with me to London. It’s versatile, and easy to layer over soft sweaters. Click here to see my latest travel Reels video!
#7 Vacation dress
If you have a vacation planned, or are just thinking ahead for spring outfits, Anthropologie has some of the cutest dresses! Look at the one I’m wearing in the above photo. If you want a great basic black dress that’s feminine and pretty, look at this best-selling maxi one, available in petite and extended sizes. The mini dress version is here. I listed a few other Anthropologie dresses in this post, click here to see.
#8 Happy hour: blazer + Silk blouse
A couple of days ago two different people asked for help on what to wear for a night out and a concert. I love blouses for going out, as long as they can be a touch sexy, and not too work-y! Paige has some of my favorites (here, here and here). The Frame Gillian I’m wearing above is an all time favorite. If you like to wear black, then a pretty black blouse is a must-have in your collection. You’ll always feel glamorous in black!
#9 Striped sweaters
Striped sweaters have been having a moment all year — and I see no signs slowing down! They’re kind of French girl cool, and truly a classic you’ll have for years to come! The Velvet sweater I’m wearing above has sold out several times, but I found it for you here. For an affordable version, look at this one from the Gap — so cute!
#10 Beauty refresh
I recently popped into the Nordstrom Beauty department for a little refresh. Thankfully, my good friend and trusted resource Kirk was there to show me his top 10 picks. And, since he’s a beauty stylist, he knows what’s selling and what’s important for all of us to use in order to feel rested and refreshed! I use all but three of these products (3, 4 and 6), although I just purchased the Charlotte Tilbury Setting Spray.
