The beauty hack that makes packing so much easier!
After many weeks of staying home, my travel schedule is starting to pick up! In a couple of days I’m heading to Scottsdale to work on a fun little project. It’s a quick trip, and I can hardly wait to bask in the sunshine ☀️ So, I’m in packing mode again! The Beis suitcase is out and ready, along with my favorite scarf, tote and sunnies. Since many of us are are in travel mode now, I thought I would re-share with you a beauty hack I tried last summer since it made my packing so much easier.
Last summer in the middle of the night, when all good ideas come to me, I had a dream … It was about having a fully stocked cosmetics bag that I could just grab and stuff into my suitcase at a moment’s notice 😂 So here’s the beauty hack: I started buying doubles of the products I can’t live without — things like my favorite tweezers, sunscreen, Bobbi Brown eyeshadow sticks, Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks, etc. Then I filled my cosmetics case and now it’s always ready to go!!
Pro-tip: Nordstrom has a special section called “travel mini’s” that has many of our favorites, sized down, which is super convenient!
Today’s post is about the beauty products I can’t live without, and new ones I’ve recently discovered that I think you’ll love. Since today is Day 10 of my “30 Days Of Getting Out Of A Rut,” I decided a makeup refresh was necessary! Last week, I popped into the Nordstrom Beauty department for a little “blog research” and met up with my beauty stylist friend Kirk. I wanted to know his top 10 beauty favorites, and it turns out a handful of them are my faves as well — check them out below.
In keeping with my authenticity promise to you, I’ve tested almost every one of these items personally. Also, every single product has mostly five star reviews, or is very close. Read on to find out which beauty and skin care products are actually worth trying — and they’re all from Nordstrom, of course 🙂
You can watch my latest Reels video here, where I demonstrate how to use some of these favorites ♥️

A Nordstrom Beauty Stylist’s top 10 picks
I recently popped into the Nordstrom Beauty department for a little refresh, and my good friend and trusted resource Kirk was there to show me his top 10 picks. And, since he’s a beauty stylist, he know’s what’s selling and what’s important for all of us to use in order to feel rested and refreshed!
My (mostly) 5-star beauty favorites: I’ve tested them all!
It was hard to narrow these down, but I carefully selected the best of the best ♥️
The first step: Skincare
La Mer Eye Concentrate – the silver eye wand is what makes this rich creamy eye cream worth the splurge. And, I only use a tiny amount — it extends the life of this little jar
Clé de peau The Serum – one of the most luxurious skin care products I’ve ever used. My face felt hydrated, and I used every last drop
Kate Somerville ExfoliKate – I keep this in the shower and use it every few days. It always leaves my skin super soft, so I remember to include it when I’m packing
Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, SPF 30 – a moisturizer that has sunscreen saves a step, and this is a great base for foundation. Great choice for packing for a trip as well, since it’s a two-in-one!
Face prep … so important!
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation – this highly-rated foundation is the best. Yes, I’ve tried branching out, but always go back to this one! It’s a nice medium coverage, looks natural, and you can apply it lightly or heavily depending on where you’re going. I recommend using a primer before applying it.
Laura Mercier Eye Primer – another product I’ve used repeatedly. It’s the perfect base for any eye shadow, and it’s easy to apply
Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Finish Powder – a face powder that’s like Instagram for your face! Just a light sweep gives you a flawless finish. However, I don’t use it everyday — only for an evening out, or any time you want to look a little bit extra 😉
Bobbi Brown Corrector stick – the perfect lightweight concealer that doesn’t settle in fine lines
The best makeup
Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks – Kidman’s Kiss is the prettiest shade of coral-pink, and Pillowtalk is a best-seller! You’ll love them as an everyday color, and they look really nice with gloss layered over. Beauty hack: make sure to have extras in your travel bag and handbag, as well as in your makeup drawer. That way you can always freshen up!
Charlotte Tilbury Blush – This pretty blush has a built-in highlighter that gives your skin a luminous finish. I wear the color First Love
Gucci Bronzing compact powder – It has been sitting in my drawer for over a year, and Kirk finally showed me how to use it! It’s a soft bronzing powder, and it smells incredible
Anastasia Brow Whiz – this might be one of the items I’d want if I were stranded on a beach — it’s that good
Favorites for the Eyes
Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow Sticks – these are easy to apply, making them perfect for everyday eye makeup. Try the Truffle for everyday, and the Dusty Mauve for a glamorous eye look.
Chanel Le Volume Mascara – another “stranded on a beach” item, this mascara gives instant volume. I’ve used it for years, and can’t imagine switching!
Bobbi Brown Blackout Liner – this waterproof liner is perfect for tightening, which I do most days
Chanel Eyeshadow Quad – the quad color I prefer is called “Spices,” and it’s perfect for a soft, smoky, everyday look. Plus, it’s so easy to apply when you have all four colors in one place to mix and blend
Baccarat Rouge 540 – this is the fragrance that was requested the most this past holiday season. It’s a splurge, but so worth it!
YSL Libre – when I was visiting my N6 friend Danielle, I snuck into her bedroom and helped myself to her perfume 😉 This is the one I ordered after I returned home!
Le Labo Santal 33 – an iconic perfume that is loved by many. It’s soft and sweet, and at one point, was the most recognized fragrance anywhere! If you aren’t sure about the perfume, try the candle first — it will make your space smell amazing
Just some pretty things
