Here it is: your ultimate guide to the best shoe collection!

5 styles you’ll wear over and over again

Have you ever fallen in love with something, bought it, and brought it home only to discover you don’t have the right shoes for your new outfit? Or just the opposite — you fall in love with a pair of shoes, only to realize you have nothing to wear with them?! This happens to many of us, and it used to happen to me as well, until I discovered this one simple tip: investing in neutral shoes that work with lots of different outfits is the key to getting dressed!

Today’s post has your ultimate guide to the best shoe collection you can own. I’m talking about the shoes that will cover you for pretty much every outfit: cool sneakers you’ll wear every day, modern boots that are comfortable and stylish, and a dressier neutral shoe that goes with every single nicer outfit. Keep reading to see my picks for stylish shoes (and affordable ones too!), and a little style board inspo to go along with it. I hope you find a few pairs you love!

P.S. Just yesterday, I made a Reels video sharing my personal, wear-all-the-time shoes. Click here to get the shopping details. Hopefully you’ll get an idea or two for your next winter outfit!

#1 Everyday comfy shoes

Loafers are still trending, and the styles that look the most current are the chunkier-soled versions. I still love a good classic loafer like the Gucci one, and this Gucci-inspired one which is more affordable, but it’s styles like these that feel more updated. Recently, ballet flats have been showing up everywhere, and I’m considering this pair for myself. I recently read an article stating that the Miu Mia are the cult favorites! While I’m not a fan, it’s fun knowing what’s trending 😉

#2 The boots everyone is wearing

Every year, I like to update my boot collection with a new bootie, and lately I’ve been contemplating this one. For dressier boots, the Stuart Weitzman ones have been amazing and I wear them all the time. For casual styles, I still love the Rag & Bone Rover bootie. The heel height is perfect, and you’ll be comfortable all day long. Combat style boots are the ultimate everyday option; I love these splurge Prada ones, and these affordable ones get great reviews. Finally, the newest trend in boots this season is a knee style, and the one that’s seen everywhere is this one by Balenciaga. Yes, it’s edgy, but it’s super cool. (For a more wearable style, look at this one.)

#3 The ultimate party shoe: strappy sandals

This is probably my favorite category, and the one where I get lots of comments! Many of you want to know how I wear strappy sandals in the winter. One person said “I thought you lived in the PNW!” Ok, here’s the scoop. I love a good strappy sandal, all year around. So if it’s pouring down rain, I’ll only wear them if I’m getting dropped off! Otherwise, I’ll go for a dressier boot. If you can imagine one shoe that goes with almost everything, it’s this one that I own in two colors. They always work, and they’re crazy inexpensive. For the fancier versions, look at this one by Christian Louboutin and this one by Manolo Blahnik — both lovely, but a splurge.

#4 Sneakers … of course!

For the last few years, I’ve lived in sneakers. They’re not only stylish (a must in my book!), but they’re practical and comfy too. Sneakers are the ultimate every day shoe: they work any time of year for travel, daily wear, and even for going out (sometimes). They’re also handy when it’s raining — especially Golden Goose, since they’re a little distressed. My new favorite Golden Goose sneakers are the Ball Stars — they’re super comfy, and there’s a good selection here. These Alexander McQueens have a wedge, and they’re also a little edgy which is always fun. I also love the brand Veja, and these Sam Edelmans are a good option for a reasonable price point. My next pair: New Balance similar to these!

I wore this Prada neutral pump for years (I still do on occasion), and talk about a shoe that goes with everything from denim to nice dresses! Currently, slingbacks are a little trendier, and thanks to these by Gucci. Lower priced versions are showing up everywhere as well. I love slingbacks with work trousers, dresses and, of course, denim.
