Every cool outfit starts with denim, and while you don’t need a lot of styles in your collection, it’s always a good idea to add a current one. Right now, the flare leg jean is all over the place, and every outfit that catches my eye includes this denim style. Just this evening on a grocery run, I walked past a very stylish woman, and I actually turned my head to see what she was wearing 🤔 This doesn’t happen too often in Portland … at the grocery store no less! (Once again, I was in Vuori joggers and UGGS … shhh, don’t tell anyone!)
Since we’re about to be in full on holiday mode, I thought I’d share the hottest jean this winter, and 5 great outfit ideas. Whether you’re going to a special lunch, dinner at friend’s house or out for drinks on a weekend night, these outfits will work for any of those occasions and will keep you looking stylish and current. Two great pairs of jeans everyone is buying: Flares and Coated Denim
Flares: The two pairs I absolutely love — and so do all my stylist friends — are the Paige Genevieve and the Mother Weekender. They’re both super flattering, and work for all sizes! The Mother pair have raw hems, and best selection is at Saks or Mother. The Paige Genevieve have a wide hem, and the best selection is at Anthropologie or Nordstrom.
Coated denim: Owning a great pair of black coated denim is a must for winter. They can be worn dressed up or down, and with boots, sandals or even sneakers. Favorites include the Frame Le Sylvie, any Paige style, or the Frame Mini boot. If you want to combine the trends, look at the Coated Frame Le High Flare or the Paige Genevieve — so chic!
#1 Find a great blouse that you absolutely love
Last month, I splurged on this gorgeous Alice & Olivia blouse, and now this brand new one below caught my eye. If you prefer a solid, this Vince slim style in black is my personal go-to, I’ve worn it for years. The Frame Gillian blouse (on sale here) is another favorite, and the sleeve detail is so pretty! #2 Add a great blazer
Blazers work anytime of year, and adding one to your outfit is the perfect way to elevate it. I love the Cinq à Sept Khloe; it’s relaxed, and everyone loves it! It runs pretty true to size, maybe a touch small. The Veronica Beard Miller Dickey jacket is another favorite, and by adding a strappy sandal and sparkly earrings, it gives it a very polished look. I just spotted this beautiful red color — so gorgeous!

#4 Cozy sweaters
A cozy cardigan or fun sweater is the perfect way to stay warm while still still feeling put together and cute. I love this new striped one with the sparkle buttons from J.Crew and check out this one too. Cinq à Sept makes this pretty embellished style which I just love. Finally, a simple off the shoulder sweater like this $59 one from Nordstrom is cozy … and a little sexy.
