The must-have accessory that’s making a comeback!

One could say that beautiful scarves never went out of style, but I can tell you based on in-store trends and dressing room experiences, they kinda did! A handful of years ago, every cute outfit in the dressing room had a printed scarf draped around it, and then they slowly disappeared. Solid scarves in camel, soft ivory and gray remained, but printed styles were largely absent … until now. Last spring, I read a Vogue article titled “In Paris, the Street-Style Set Signaled a Unanimous Return To The Foulard” and I immediately started putting scarves back on my radar!

This past week, I was in the Nordstrom Seattle store and my Nordstrom6 friends and I hosted a pop-up. We showcased special finds, including our October Nordstrom6 drop (a monthly drop of six of our favorite, best-selling items). This month, we selected our top blazer, the famous ATM t-shirt, and of course, the must-have accessory that’s making a comeback: a beautiful printed scarf. Today’s post is about the six pieces you need to make the cutest fall outfits. The must-have N6 Drop pieces — October

Rag & Bone blazer, ATM tee, Burberry scarf, Rover bootie, Mother denim and Nordstrom cashmere sweaters – all colors!

 

#1 Rag & Bone blazer

This blazer might be my number one blazer pick for fall. It’s comfy like a sweater, but looks polished like a blazer. You’ll wear it from now through next May, depending on the climate where you live. There are many ways to style it — over a dress, with denim, or your favorite trousers. It now comes in a faux leather in black and caramel brown, plaid, and navy with gold buttons. And, just this morning, I discovered this brand new green color. Best selections are at Nordstrom and Saks. ALL SO GOOD!

#2 Must-have accessory: Burberry scarf

The patterns right now on Burberry scarves are fabulous! Never before have I liked so many, which makes it difficult to choose a favorite. Yes, they are a splurge, so if you prefer an affordable option, try AllSaints. I also love this Madewell one.

 

 

#3 Nordstrom cashmere sweaters

The Nordstrom label cashmere sweaters are great quality and very well-priced. There are actually two labels; Nordstrom and Nordstrom signature. I love this year’s zebra print, and the star print was also a hit last week in Seattle. Just today, I noticed the crew style and v-neck styles are on sale for $89.90 — such a great deal, and perfect for gift-giving.

#4 Mother denim

During the pop up shop, someone told me she always has difficulty finding jeans (she listed several reasons). Trust me, you’re not alone, we all have issues! All the options I brought her looked really good, but in her case it was the Mother Hustlers that won. In fact, she walked away with two pairs — a black and medium wash blue. In case you’re wondering, the five I brought her to try included the Hustler in this wash and this wash, the Mother Insider and Dazzler, and lastly, the Paige Cindy. I recommend these over and over again!

 

 

#5 Rover boot

Rag & Bone makes really great boots, and the Rover style is the perfect everyday bootie. The two inch heel is practical for running around town, and the color selection consists of several solid wear-all-the-time options. As a matter of fact, I know someone who owns them in three colors! The camel is a great neutral that works with many outfits, and you can’t ever go wrong with black.

#6 ATM Schoolboy t-shirt

This arm-flattering, forgiving t-shirt is a stylist favorite! It works under pretty much everything, and the texture of the fabric adds a little interest under cardigans or blazers. I recommend white, and if you’re extra careful and you take care of it, you’ll wear it many many times to justify the $85 price.
