With everything you need available in your closet, you’ll have extra confidence when getting dressed. Trust me on this one — it feels REALLY GOOD when your outfits come together easily. But, this requires thoughtful planning and smart purchasing, and it also doesn’t happen overnight (darn). This is part 2 of a two-part series on how to make the perfect fall wardrobe. In other words, how to incorporate those trendy, stylish pieces that take your wardrobe to the next level. These are often the items we actually buy first because, after all, they’re way more fun to purchase! Since we are beginning a new season, now is the time to get the best selection, and remember, buying early allows for longer wearing time. Keep reading for some new and exciting arrivals that pair perfectly with the essentials you hopefully already own. As always, if you have any questions or need help, feel free to reach out! 🙂

Faux leather

Leather is the easiest way to add a cool vibe to any outfit — it will definitely level it up! In recent years, faux leather has been looking really good. It’s drapey and soft, and most of the time you can’t tell the difference from real leather. A faux leather blazer is super stylish and modern, and I’m always looking for faux leather dresses and any kind of outerwear — all so chic! See below for other favorites.

Statement coat

One or two special coats in your collection is another great way to up your outfit game! Right now, I love a nice plaid or herringbone coat, or anything in a bright color. And, the prices are often pretty reasonable. Coats are one of those categories that remain relevant for years to come! Right now, J.Crew has some of my favorites in fun colors — click here to see.

Pretty dresses

Dresses are a favorite category to own. They’re feminine, a little sexy, and look modern when worn with boots. You can wear them during the day for lunches or meetings. Then, if you style them a little bit differently, they can be perfect for a night out as well. If you start collecting one here and there, you’ll be ready for any event that comes up!

Cool blazers

One can never have too many jackets!! Seriously! As long as you have all the basics, then any jacket or blazer you purchase will work nicely with your wardrobe. For example, I adore this L’Agence blazer, and depending on the climate where you live, a fun one like this will make many cute outfits as well. It’s the piece of the moment, so you need at least one 😉

Graphic tees

We all love a good graphic t-shirt, and Anine Bing are some of my favorites. I own three of them, and have worn them all non-stop for several years. You don’t need too many; just a couple that work with all the things you already own. Wear them under blazers, shirt jackets and denim jackets. My faves from Anine Bing include this, this and this, and below are some brand new ones that caught my eye!

Special accessories

Beautiful accessories are often overlooked, but they’re the finishing touch to every single outfit. I can’t emphasize this enough! Owning a handful of coordinating pieces (like a belt, scarf, handbags and even hats) allows you to make many different combinations, resulting in a complete and stylish look — every time.

“Special” shoes

Another way to switch up your outfits is to have at least one pair of “special” shoes in your collection. Last spring, I purchased a pair of strappy embellished sandals from Veronica Beard and they literally went with everything. And, it was the same with these gold sandals. The options are endless! So, the point is that adding something fun that you just love will make you feel extra stylish and modern ♥️
