8 pieces that will get you through Winter! ❄️

Since Winter officially starts this month, I decided to review my own closet to see which items I’ll be wearing on repeat for the coming season. Of course, this required a bit of “blog research” 😉 and I’m excited to share my findings with you! While none of these winter items will come as a big surprise, there are some brand new things I’ve discovered and think you’ll love too. This post is about the 8 pieces that will get you through winter feeling stylish and warm!

I don’t know about you, but I look forward to the Winter Solstice every year because it means that from here on out, days will get longer. Who doesn’t want a little more daylight? And along with longer days ahead, a new year is coming, and I think we’re all looking forward to that!

P.S. The So Susie website has gotten a big update! First, Em’s picks is back. Emily is my 24 year old daughter who started blogging last year — click here to take a look. There’s also a new style boards section to make it a little easier to shop, click here to see them. And, we have a new “Shop my Instagram” section – check it out. I think this Anine Bing camel coat is one of the best out there!

This Moncler vest is a splurge, but it’s so cute and works nicely in early spring

These fun hats make great gifts, and the company, Sh*t That I Knit is so good, read it here!

This Rails sweater caught my eye, and I just might try it too!

This Sam Edelman combat boot is nice and slim, which is great for some who find many boots too bulky!

#1 Stylish scarves

Gucci scarf | Grey coat | Paige denim | Vince Camuto sandals | Chanel sunglasses

Scarves are among my favorite accessories; they add a little extra interest to every outfit. I prefer lighter weight versions because you can wear them most seasons, and they’re easy to work with. For example, I’ve taken this black scarf on every trip over the past few years — even to Hawaii as a wrap up for cooler evenings. Recently, I splurged on this Gucci scarf and I absolutely love it! It has pretty fringe edges and comes in several colors. These days, I love simple but sophisticated scarves, including this black and white scarf by AllSaints. It’s the first printed scarf I’ve purchased in years (I’m wearing it in the photo below under #5 Boots). And of course, you can never go wrong with a Burberry scarf – the color combos are perfection!

#2 Super popular Shackets

BB Dakota shirt jacket, also available here in other colors | Anine Bing tee | Mother Dazzler jeans | Clogs

This might be my favorite trend recently: shirt style jackets. They’re so versatile — perfect for hanging out at home or for running errands — and you’ll wear them through winter into early spring! This cream one from Line & Dot has been very popular. Also spotted others you might like, like this shorter version from Rails and this plaid one too.

#3 Pretty Winter Sweaters

Left: L’Agence sweater | Coated denim | David Yurman bracelet | Malone Souliers shoes | Right: Frame sweater | Balenciaga bag | Aquazzura sandals

Sweaters are going to be a staple for a while, but if you find lighter colors that look less wintery, you’ll wear them for many months to come — until the weather changes. I purchased this one by Cinq a Sept recently and love the cut-out details; I wore it in this Reels video. Don’t forget about Halogen cashmere, still only $79! If you’re looking for a slightly higher quality cashmere, you can never go wrong with Vince. Here are a few new favorite sweaters:

Everyone should own a hoodie!

#4 Perfect Puffers

Faux leather puffer | OTK boots | Black skinnies | Cream sweater, similar

From luxury Moncler to the ultra-cool brand SAM to North Face (loving this one), puffers are everywhere! There are many stylish options at different price points, including of-the-moment faux leather like the one in the above photo. I’m trying to restrain myself from adding more 😂 but if I wasn’t, I’d go for this vest or this one – both so cute!

#5 The best winter Boots

Left: J.Crew cardigan | Anine Bing tee | Mother denim | Aquatalia boot | Balenciaga tote | Scarf | Right: Veronica Beard blazer | Mother denim | Faux leather hoodie dickey | Aquatalia boot | Anine Bing tee

Most of us will be wearing boots on repeat for the next few months, so grab one or two pairs you love and wear them all the time. Lately my go-to boots have been these black boots by Aquatalia, these dressier Stuart Weitzmans and these by Jimmy Choo.

#6 Soft Fleece

Abercrombie fleece | Mother denim, same wash | Golden Goose sneakers

In my regular life, I’m not much of a fleece-sweatshirt person — but this year out of necessity I’ve really come to love them, especially this favorite from Abercrombie. Prices are so reasonable, and they also make perfect gifts. These sherpa jackets have also been best sellers, check out the selection here.

#7 Matching sets

Vuori hoodie | Vuori Jogger

Matching sets continue, and I don’t see the trend fading any time soon. There are many versions of matching sets, like the elevated set I’m wearing in this photo, or a matching hoodie and jogger combo. Here are a few I’d love to add to my own collection, and I’m sure you’d like them too!

#8 Longer wool coats

Grey coat, similar | Frame camel sweater | Frame coated denim | Gucci sandals | Chloe tote

The great thing about these stylish, versatile coats is that you can wear them over literally any outfit. Go casual with jeans, a t shirt or a hoodie and some cool sneakers, or upscale with a dress and boots, or a cashmere sweater with faux leather pants or flared denim. A classic color like camel, gray or black is also a good idea. This is a classic winter staple, and everyone needs one! I love love the Dylan coat by Anine Bing, and this one is also on my radar!
