The birthday celebration week continues (!!), and I’ve been so touched by all the love and kind messages from all of you, thank you from the bottom of my heart! I just got together with a couple of close friends for happy hour, and decided to get a little dressed up. I started with this AMAZING Cinq a Sept blazer that I picked up at Neiman Marcus, and it became the basis for my easy go-to outfit combo: a great blazer, a silky cami and jeans. Since this is the perfect outfit for any time you go out, I thought I’d write about it!
This dependable trio is easy, effortless and stylish, and if you add heels and a good handbag, you can be ready in ten minutes — I’m not kidding. I gave this “go-to formula” to my friend a couple of weeks ago and it is ALL SHE HAS WORN to every occasion since, including lunch, dinner, happy hour, a grad party and even a business meeting! The eye-catching piece of every outfit, a blazer works with everything from dresses to denim to a work pant. It always looks polished, and it’s worth investing in several you love. The Veronica Beard scuba jacket and the Miller dickey jacket are all-time favorites (I have them both in size 2 for reference). This faux leather one is also a solid go-to, also available in black. The backbone of every closet, jeans are so easy because you can wear them on the weekends with sneakers or slides, and in cooler months with sandals (for going out) and booties. I love a good coated denim, as well as black, gray, dark wash and faded wash. Here are the ones I recommend!

Dressier Sandals
Dressier sandals work all year around! I realize there are exceptions, for example, if it’s raining or snowing, but if I’m going out, they’re my go-to. Invest in a couple of pairs, like a black and a neutral. The simpler the better because they’ll work with many of your outfits!
