How to take your wardrobe to the next level!

How do you get the perfect wardrobe? By filling your closet with a combination of well-fitting essentials and trendy pieces that you add each season, like pretty scarves, non-black handbags, special jackets and tops – basically anything you absolutely love and are excited to wear!

With everything you need right there in your closet, you’ll have extra confidence when getting dressed, and trust me on this one — it feels REALLY GOOD when your outfits come together easily. But, this requires thoughtful planning and smart purchasing. It also doesn’t happen overnight (darn)!

I can’t emphasize this enough, owning a handful of coordinating pieces (like a belt, scarf, handbags and even hats) allows you to make many different combinations, resulting in a complete and stylish look — every time.

Investing in a collection of handbags that you absolutely love is really important. Handbags also happen to be one of the most often overlooked pieces when putting together a solid wardrobe. So, where to start? A basic black or neutral beige bag is key, followed by a wallet on a chain. And then, add one in a pretty color that catches your eye and is fun, and also mixes it up within your collection. When you’re wearing all black, nothing pops more than a handbag in a great color!

Adding anything faux leather anything to your wardrobe will make everything look more expensive. In recent years, the quality has been SO good that it’s really hard to tell the difference between real leather and faux or vegan leather. In most cases, I actually prefer the vegan leather because the fabric is surprisingly soft and drapey. Nanushka is a sustainable brand that has some really beautiful pieces.
