The 10 piece summer capsule: It’s all you need!
I think it’s safe to say that if you’re reading this, and hanging out with me in this little corner of the internet, then you probably love clothes as much as I do! Sometimes it’s hard to navigate the world of online shopping, find things we love AND put all the outfits together. This is why we should all start with the essentials — in other words, the items that basically make every outfit! For example, make sure you have clean, well-fitting white denim, because you’ll wear it over and over again. And same with a good denim jacket — it’s the one piece you need in the evening when the temperature cools down. Once the basics are covered, then you can layer in all the other fun things!
As you likely know, Nordstrom is always my go-to for most everything. They have the best selection of all my stylish favorites, and after working there for a lifetime (29 years to be exact), I kind of know my way around the store 😊. The best part is I’ve tested many of these items, and I only recommend things that are really good. Lately I’ve been wearing this Fidelity one on repeat! Another favorite that everyone is loving in the dressing room is this one by L’Agence. Madewell makes another stylist go-to – we love the slightly oversized fit on this one.
#2 The plain white tee
Yesterday I posted this Reels Video, and I can’t begin to tell you how many messages I got — even I was surprised! But it’s clear, everyone is looking for the perfect white tee. My personal favorite is the ATM Schoolboy tee — I wear it ALL THE TIME! I also wear this one by Frame and like it too, but the ATM one is still usually the first choice. If you need a tank, this is a good one by Michael Stars and it’s one size fits all.
#3 The always elegant slipdress

The Vince slipdress is probably one of my favorite purchases in a really long time! It’s elegant, and can be really dressed up for an evening out, but when you throw a blazer over it, it works nicely for daytime. Try it with a denim jacket, or with a white shirt tied at the waist. It’s a really good piece!

White denim is one of the most important pieces of your summer capsule. Once you find a pair you love, wear them all the time! Yes, they might get a little dirty, but that’s ok. #6 Simple statement hoop earrings
Find an understated but cool pair of hoop earrings and wear them during the day and then again in the evening. Simple, stylish and always elegant.

Make sure to find at least one great knit dress … I promise you’ll wear it all the time! This longer style by Paige is a favorite, so is this one and this one too. The main thing is to get a simple one so you can layer jackets over it. Remember switching up your shoes can completely change the look!

#10 The ‘other’ third piece: a lightweight jacket

I have several friends who have bought this jacket, and they all LOVE it! The slightly longer length makes it flattering, and it has a tiny bit of stretch which makes it comfy too. This is pretty much the perfect jacket!
