Going on vacation? What in the world should you pack? 😬

Next week I’m going on a 4-day vacation work-trip to LA, and I couldn’t be more excited! It’s really a trend shopping, people-watching, blog research kind of trip, with some fun along the way. When I started thinking about what to pack, I went on complete overload! I mean, what do you pack when you’re doing everything under the sun? Cocktails and dinners out, pool lounging, working, bike riding and hiking, shopping and bougie lunches?

I started taking notes (never thought too much about vacation outfits), came up with a list, and used it to pack for the trip. I’m sharing it with all of you because assuming we all have similar packing issues! Today’s post is about what to pack on a mini vacation while trying not to bring your entire closet 🙂 I hope you like it!

First: the travel day outfit

I always always bring this black scarf on every single trip — it’s the best!

These packing cubes are life changing, and this suitcase is easy to spot in baggage claim

If you haven’t tried these Vuori joggers, you’re missing out! This ATM tee is a favorite as well

I’ve been using this Balenciaga tote daily. It holds an iPad, a small crossbody bag, and anything else you might need on any given day!

Shopping: look stylish but be comfy!

Since we’re going trend shopping to cool places like Everlane, Melrose Place (my personal favorite), Nordstrom (0f course), and other top spots, I’d like to look stylish but be comfy too. I’m thinking white jeans (Mother white or new faded wash), maybe a linen blazer and the Balenciaga tote. Here are a few more ideas for when you do the same!

Outfits

Casual dresses

Cute but Practical shoes

Easy totes

Cocktails and dinners out

This will be the perfect time to try out the new Vince slip dress I’ve been talking about! I’ll throw a blazer like this one over the dress for extra warmth, and I’m going to bring these sandals (and possibly these as well). Since a wallet on a chain doesn’t take up too much room, I’ll also sneak it in my suitcase. These four items will cover you for drinks and dinner, and you can use them to create other outfits too.

Pool day

This is easy! Pack a cute swimsuit, a coverup like this, slide sandals, a hat and a tote. Here are a few others I think you’ll like!

Accessories

Bike ride and hiking in the Hollywood Hills

Since it will be warm, I’m trying out these new Lululemon bike shorts (the 8″ length) and this skirt, this top, and the wear-everything belt bag — SO GOOD! In case it’s cool in the evenings, I’m packing this new Sweaty Betty sweater or this cozy Zella cardigan. I’ll for sure lather on Supergoop! and wear a hat like this one! All inspired by my own style board 🙂

  1. You may not want to pack your white jeans. A light denim would be on trend for California. For some reason, white jeans aren’t worn here. Hope you have a great time!
