My Stylist friends always grab these 6 pieces!
As many of you likely know, last year during the early days of the pandemic, six Nordstrom stylists miraculously found each other and quickly formed an amazing bond over fashion, Nordstrom and our love of styling. We called ourselves the Nordstrom6, and our goal was to provide some fun and lighthearted content and hopefully lift everyone’s spirits. One year later we’re still at it, and between daily texts and house party calls, we plan our weekly content which we share every Sunday! Check out my latest posts here and here.
Several weeks ago, Bobby Schuessler, Senior Market Editor for Who What Wear, asked if we’d be interested in working together on an article — to which we said YES! He wanted to know which items we suggest to everyone. It sounds pretty easy, but let me tell you, behind the scenes there was plenty of back and forth … until we landed on the final list! Today’s post is all about these 6 items and where to find them. The list is really good, so keep reading because I’m sure you’ll discover a thing or two 🙂 Check out the recent article here!
P.S. We’ve had a little explosion of growth lately, so if you’re new around here and want to stay up to date on all things stylish and the bound-to-sell-out items we ALL need, then subscribe here and never miss a post! Make sure to check out my stylish friends, Rose, Danielle, Stacey, Jennifer and Sandy. All are super talented, genuine, creative, and warm!
#1 Blazer: THE piece of the moment
A blazer is a staple piece we all love. The versatility and styling options are endless, and it’s an easy way to look polished and cool. This favorite faux leather one is SO GOOD, and the price is incredible! For a splurge, we all love Veronica Beard, and also oversized styles like this one from Zara. I wore it in this video about what’s catching my eye at the moment. Below you’ll find several I love that work perfectly for warmer months. Throw one on over a tank, a slip dress, or with your favorite pair of jeans.
White blazers – the color to own for spring
Pretty colors add a feminine touch to denim
Neutrals always work
#2 Utility jacket
A utility jacket is one of the top items I grab for my clients, and there are many options. I wear this one several times a week, and this belted style is another personal favorite. And lately, I’ve been recommending newer versions in pretty colors, like the one I’m wearing above as well as this pink one, and this one too! Find one (or two) you love, I promise you’ll wear it all the time!
#3 Stylish Slipdress
We all love a good slip dress, and this Vince is one of the best. Since it’s cut on the bias, it’s really flattering (and somewhat forgiving). My friend Sandy wears an ATM tee under hers with sneakers, and Rose loves a Rails gauze shirt tied at the waist. It also looks amazing with a denim jacket or a blazer. Add this stylish, cool classic to your closet — it’s pretty much the perfect dress!
#4 Moto jacket
A simple moto style jacket is timeless. It’s a go-to when you need an extra layer over dresses or denim, and adds a little edge to every outfit. This Madewell is a top-seller, and look for non-leather options like this one and this one. Super cool and very, very stylish!
#5 Versatile shoes
We all love shoes! Having several pairs of neutral, go-with-everything shoes is the best investment you can make. The Prada pump above is an all-time favorite (it’s even my second pair). I know they were a splurge, but in terms of cost per wear, it really pencils out because I wear them all the time. The cork ones above are also really versatile, and a must-have for everyone!
#6 Denim, denim, denim
I think it’s safe to say, denim is pretty much part of every outfit we wear! And since we sell so much denim to our clients, we know the best fits to buy! My favorites are below:
