6 ways to refresh your denim for Spring!

With spring officially ten days away (!!!), it’s time to start switching up our favorite basics to include new items for the upcoming season. Denim is the first place to start, considering that it’s the backbone of all our closets … and I don’t mean we need a whole new wardrobe, but instead some little things that will up your denim game. Many of us are still in cooler weather and need cardigans and jackets, but we do want to feel like spring and summer are around the corner!

Today’s post is about 5 ways to wear denim as we head into warmer months … everything from which denim to buy to the shoes and accessories that will complete your outfits. Keep reading for a little street style inspo, a brand new style board and to find out what’s new!

For some reason, this Celine ad campaign caught my eye. I realize Kaia is younger than most of us 😉 but the classic style of these simple jeans, a baseball cap and a great shoulder bag actually works for every age! I spotted an initial hat at Zara that’s super cool, and a good way to get the look.

This flowy trench is a favorite, and it comes in black too. The Theory one is similar, but more of a splurge!

Refresh your denim

Refreshing your denim collection with a new style or two will give new life to many of your basics. I’m loving straight leg styles, white denim (always a spring staple) and grayish-blackish washes. My newest favorite is this Frame Le One skinny jean. It’s one size fits all, and trust me, it’s barely staying in stock!

Trench coats are super stylish

This is the spring jacket to own! There are so many versions, from this flowy style you’ll seriously wear with everything, to this classic style, to this fun style. A trench is incredibly versatile and looks equally good over denim as it does over a dress.

Spring sandals are everywhere

This is the time of year when sandals are in stock and plentiful. It’s a good idea to find ones you love early in the season to allow for longer wearing time. While visiting the Nordstrom San Diego store this week, I saw so many super cute ones! These were my favorites …

Pretty white tops

Pretty white tops are always in style, and lately I’ve seen a couple of good ones at Veronica Beard (here and here). I’m also loving puff sleeve details like this, and feminine details like this.

Add a baseball cap like Kaia

Yes I know we aren’t Kaia’s age, but we can all wear a baseball cap and look super stylish. Plus, it hides a bad hair day! I love this one at Zara, this one at Anthropologie and this one from Nordstrom.

Of course, a fun spring bag

I probably sound like a broken record, but choosing a stylish handbag makes every single outfit come together! Every day you’ll find me perusing what’s new in handbags. I always have new favorites … see below for this week’s 🙂
