Style at any age: 3 fashion essentials you need right now ❤️
Style at any age is one of my favorite topics to talk about, because it’s true — style isn’t about age! We can wear whatever we want whenever we want as long as we feel good. I must admit, when I was in my 40’s, I would often say out loud “am I too old for this?” For example, I remember thinking I was too old for a bikini. How ridiculous! Thankfully, I came to the realization that it didn’t matter. But, it’s a question I hear often in the dressing room. So I tell everyone, wear short shorts and bikinis and whatever else you feel good in, because if you don’t, you’ll look back and wish you had!
Today’s post is about 3 fashion essentials you need right now. They’re super stylish and just so happen to work for everyone! I joined with Emily (my 23 year old daughter) and my Nordstrom friend Jennifer (40’s) from Closet Choreography to show you how we each style our favorite Topshop cardigan, Levi’s, and mules. Although we’re all different ages, style is about how we each put it together. See our fun Instagram Reels video here, Em’s picks here, and Closet Choreography here. Keep reading for a brand new style board, and my favorite picks for each category. Hope you like them!

Leopard goes with most everything, and this stylish shoe goes with almost everything!
You might have noticed me carrying a new bag lately, and I just love it. It’s roomy and carries quite a bit
This Theory trench is flowy and such a great staple! It works all year round, and completes many outfits
Right now I’m loving sweaters in pretty colors like this Topshop cardigan we wore in this video. You can see we all styled it differently. If the cardigans aren’t too low, I prefer nothing under and half tucked into a jean, which looks super chic. A neutral style sweater like this Madewell one looks so sophisticated with white denim! This new one also caught my eye. Here are more styles to check out!
#2 Loafers & Mules
This is the perfect transition shoe in between seasons. I love the Gucci style that everyone has, and I also like this Jenni Kayne one, this Tory Burch and this one. The Sam Edelman version is Gucci-inspired, and a great way to save a little money to get the look!
J.Crew white shirt, older | Levi’s Icon Wedgie in Tango light
I’m guessing many of you have worn Levi’s at one point or another. The two styles I highly recommend are the Icon Wedgie (especially in the lighter wash Tango light), and the higher rise 724 style. I own both and wear frequently. If I had to choose, the 724 makes me feel slimmer 😉 These days Emily and her age group are liking looser and longer jean styles. Check out Em’s blog post here.
