I’m over this trend! Here’s what to wear instead …
I don’t often say “I’m over a trend,” but in my opinion, tie dye has run its course!! It should be moved to the back of the store, and marked down 🙂 That may sound dramatic, especially since I’m wearing my DIY one while writing this post. To clarify: I’m not saying you should toss what you own, but I do think we should pass on any new purchases right now. Unless, of course, something calls your name like this cute Rag & Bone one I saw today while visiting my local Nordstrom. I’ll still be wearing my favorite tie dye dress from last year, so don’t judge if you happen to see me:)
Today’s post is about a few new trends I plan to wear instead of tie dye pieces. Even when I think I’m not buying another shirt jacket, along comes another like this one that catches my eye. Also loving oversized shirts, cozy sweaters that look springy, and dressed up sweatshirts. Keep reading to see some new picks I’ve spotted recently that I think you’ll like too!

#1 Spring sweaters

It’s still sweater weather for many parts of the country, including Portland, but I’m looking forward to new spring-like sweaters. After all, only 6 more weeks until spring, so it’s wise to look for sweaters that have longer wearing time. I love the collar on this cardigan, this cardigan is in my own shopping bag, and this set is super stylish!
#2 Sweatshirts with cool details

I snagged this cotton sweatshirt last year, and I still love it. The 3/4 length balloon sleeve is a stylish detail that makes you feel like you aren’t wearing a sloppy sweatshirt. I also noticed this super cute one by Frame, this pretty yellow one and upon further research so many others! All are perfect for Zoom calls and grocery store runs 🙂
#3 Shirt Jackets

Just when I think I’m not buying another shirt jacket – I spot another one. Just today, I saw this pretty blue plaid color, this pale blue one, and this faux leather one too. The one I’m wearing in the top photo has been a favorite, and I’ve noticed it’s in and out of stock. So if you see that it’s sold out – keep checking because availability changes daily. Here are some new versions!
#4 Oversized shirts

In the early days of Covid last March, I re-discovered this white, oversized shirt in the back of my closet … and it has been a favorite ever since! It works nicely untucked (and so comfy), it’s great tied at the waist, and I plan on finding a vest like this one to can wear over it! Trust me, I know you’ll wear it all the time!
