Get excited for these 2021 trends!

One thing about working in retail basically your whole life is that there’s always something new every single day. For those of us who love the business of fashion., it’s what keeps us going. I believe that adding a new stylish piece or two every season is what keeps us looking youthful and up to date. And who doesn’t want that? I’m aware that there are way more important things going on in the world, but this little place is meant for all of us to come and enjoy a little distraction from real life 🙂

Several weeks ago, my friend Bobby Schuessler, the Senior Editor from Who What Wear, asked me what trends I’m excited to wear for 2021. It’s always very exciting to receive an email from Bobby, and I really admire how they’re embracing women over 40. I’m so proud to be featured in this prestigious publication. Read the article here, and in case you missed it, the previous article here.

Today’s post will hopefully inspire you to get excited for 2021 trends. It’s a combination of ideas from this article, plus a few new things that have recently popped up on my radar! If you’re enjoying these posts, follow me on Instagram and subscribe to the blog.

Pink pieces

Harris Wharf coat | ATM tee | Vince crop legging | Gucci bag | Aquazzura shoes, older

I definitely fell in love with this lightweight coat, but the color is what really caught my eye! Worn with booties and jeans now, we’ll  be loving pink as we settle into the new year. This sweater is the prettiest shade of pink, and this puffer is statement making, see it on a style board here.

Slide sandals in pretty colors

Dior sandals

These pretty slides caught my eye last summer, and I’ve been dreaming about them ever since! The colors are so gorgeous, and the outfit possibilities are endless. Adding a bright color might be just what we need as we head into brighter days!

Knit dresses

J.Crew sweater dress | Faux leather trench | Similar boots | Gucci bag

A great style to wear with boots in the winter, knit dresses are a trend that will transition easily into this  new year. For spring, simply pair with sneakers. I love this hoodie style, and this cashmere one looks cozy. A favorite brand is Z Supply, check it out here!

Shackets

Madewell shacket – recently restocked | J.Crew cashmere tee

Shackets were very popular this past fall and winter, and this trend isn’t going away anytime soon. I’m excited to add pretty colors and lightweight versions as we move along 2021.

Second skin tops

Faux leather jacket | Zimmerman top | Mother Dazzler jeans | Red shoes, similar | Gucci bag These are going to be everywhere, so I thought I’d give one a try. Second skin tops are surprisingly flattering, and the bold styles and patterns are super fun! It’s also the perfect layering piece under any jacket.

Knit polos

J.Crew polo, similar here | PAIGE Cindy jeans | Sandals | handbag | Sunglasses

Just loving this sweater trend, and moving forward, I’ll look for a short-sleeved version in cashmere or cotton. I’m excited to see the summer versions!

Cozy sets

Knit cardigan | Chelsea 28 top | Knit pant

These cozy matching sets are the stay-at-home look right now! The cardigan and matching pants are super soft, and they’re the perfect outfit to wear when working from home this winter.

Knit skirt

Anine Bing tee | Treasure & Bond skirt | Zara Gold sandals

I’ve started noticing knit skirts lately, and I’m excited to wear this one for the months to come. It’s nice having a change and it’s so versatile!
