These 5 new trends should be on your radar!
Every single day, I peruse my favorite websites while sipping my morning cup of coffee. Often I’ll spot a trend or two that really captures my attention, and then I want to share it with you 🙂 It might take a little time to find just the right piece and incorporate it into an outfit, but I guess you might call that the thrill of the hunt … and I love it! The trends in this post are always wearable, and they take our outfits to the next level.
I believe in staying current … in fact, I think this keeps us feeling young. I’m not talking about dressing like our 20 year old kids (if you have them that is), but I am suggesting that we can look pretty and stylish by incorporating fashionable pieces into our outfits. I’ve helped SO MANY women with wardrobe updates, and it’s always very rewarding to hear how good they feel and how many compliments they receive!
Today’s post is about 5 new trends that should be on your radar, plus some fun street style. Try these out, and let me know your favorite. Sometimes a small change makes a big difference!
Trend #1: Anything Brown

Brown is one of those colors we can never get enough of. When a cool brown ‘something’ arrives at Nordstrom, it always sells out immediately! I’m happy to report that this chic color is back, and here are some cool pieces to consider. A couple of months ago during a weekend getaway (read the post here), I wore this dress which is still in stock here. Now I have my eye on this furry coat, these faux leather pants and this Vince sweater. Em really wants a brown North Face, so this one is for her 🙂 Brown looks good on almost everyone, so give it a try!

Trend #2: Sweater layering

Many of us have likely already tried this trend, but it’s back and styled a little differently. I recently layered this sweater over this faux leather blazer – here and here. It was a great scarf substitute, and looked way cooler 😉 Try this styling tip no matter which season we’re in, even in the summer — I draped a white cardigan over a tank, and I’m told it looked great! The extra layer almost always comes in handy.
Trend #3: Winter white … everything

There are many beautiful shades of cream and winter white that will give you an elevated, sophisticated vibe. Finding the right pieces according to your skin tone will make many stylish outfits that you’ll wear for years to come. I adore this Vince dress, and this matching cardigan and pant. These are elegant lounging pieces and make wonderful gifts! And, I’m keeping an eye on this bag — and this one too!

Trend #4: Sweater styles

Between puff sleeved sweaters, polo sweaters, 1/2 zip pullovers and pretty colored cardigans, it’s hard to decide which ones to take home! I think you’ll absolutely adore this new Veronica Beard puff sleeved sweater, and this 1/2 zip should be in your closet as well. Basically, find one or two you love and you’ll give your denim and winter boots an easy update!

Trend #5: Second skin tops

These tight-fitting tops, known as second skin tops, are everywhere right now. They’re super cool pieces to layer under jackets, sweaters, cardigans – even vests! Ganni is the first brand I noticed, and the brand Marine Serre has become a cult favorite recently. I purchased this Rag & Bone top the other day, and I have my eye on this one too. These are all the rage and when you try one on, you’ll see why!
