The best holiday selection is now – don’t wait!

The best holiday selection is now – don’t wait!

When you work in retail basically your whole life, you tend to be slightly ahead of things due to the nature of the fashion lifecycle. And because of that, right this minute, I can tell you stores are fully stocked! Trust me, it happens every year … and there are certain things you won’t want to wait on. For example, UGGS are sure to sell out, cashmere gloves and scarves will fly out the door, and — believe it or not — so will luxury coats like Canada Goose and Moncler. I’ve seen it first hand for over 25 years. So … take my advice and get a head start!! 😉

Typically I wait to get into the true holiday spirit, but this year I’m ready to get started. Today I stopped by the garden store and picked up boxwood wreaths (my favorites) and some pretty white pansies. This is the perfect time to get festive and cozy! Here are 2 ways to get ready — and get in the spirit!

#1 Get your festive wear now

The best selections are already available and they sell out FAST. Last year’s version of the top I’m wearing above was gone before I could get my hands on it, and I can see why — it’s only $49! This year, I’m talking sequins, pretty jewelry and festive sweaters that will be perfect for all your at-home festivities.

I recently picked up this green sequined skirt, and plan on wearing it with a graphic tee. I also grabbed this duster that also sold out last year, and this pant as well. Always check Anthropologie, they have some of the best holiday items. I also like Chelsea 28, and Nordstrom has some great picks in their holiday shop!

This sequined blazer is so good … I tried it on and it’s a great fit!

The pretty gold dress is only $79! You’ll love the Eliza J. style with the pretty embellished neckline.

Touches of red like on this shoe can be worn all year round, so these shoes are worth the investment!

#2 Add a little sparkle to your makeup routine

On any given day, I pretty much stick to the basics shown below. However, simply adding a new lipstick or a sparkly liquid eyeshadow can make all the difference. I love the Stila shimmer and sparkle liquid eyeshadows, this Chanel gold sparkle (which I wrote about here), and this Laura Mercier Metallic Taupe Eye Caviar Stick. I often wear some of these during the day, any time of year 🙂 Recent favorite lipstick combos include Charlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk lipstick and gloss, and MAC Creme Cup with this liner. Try something new, it’s a great way to refresh your beauty routine!
