Shoes that work with all your fall outfits!

Every year, when the seasons start to change, many of us develop shoe dilemmas! That might be a little extreme, but you know what I mean; the cute slides we’ve been wearing all summer long don’t feel right anymore and when we pull out last fall’s staples, they look a little scrappy. We all know what that means: IT’S TIME FOR NEW FALL SHOES!! Many of you have been sending me DMs and texts asking my advice on which shoes to buy. So, in the spirit of doing “blog research” for all of you, I felt obligated to test out a few things (wink). No matter which fall shoe you’re in the mood to buy, I suggest buying it early. Get the basics all lined up so you’ll have a long wearing season and all your outfits will come together!

This week, my Nordstrom 6 friends and I shared the shoes we love for fall (I made an IGTV video you can watch here). Today’s post is about shoes that work with every fall outfit, a well as a recap of the outfits I wore in the video. Don’t forget to read all the way to the end so you can get a tip on my favorite slippers!

#1 Boots

Everyday booties

There are loads of choices in the boot category, but I suggest starting out with one or two pairs of everyday boots like this Rag & Bone style, or these waterproof go-with-everything booties that you’ll wear most days. I have these pearl-embellished Stuart Weitzman booties in my shopping bag. For an affordable option, I love Marc Fisher – this style and this one too. The options are endless!

#2 Mules

I consider mules to be the equivalent of summer slides. They’re super easy, go-with-everything shoes, and are perfect for the transition between seasons. I love a leopard mule like this one; or try a Gucci loafer mule, which is very stylish and elevates every outfit. This leather-trimmed canvas style is really versatile too. For a more affordable option, this Tory Burch is super cute, and this Sam Edelman version is pretty close to the Gucci one … kind of!

#3 Sneakers

Rag & Bone blazer | Mother denim | Golden Goose sneakers | Gucci sunnies

Last winter, I opted for wearing sneakers over booties — can you believe it? Well, if you find a comfy pair that’s also stylish, it’s the ideal finishing touch to all casual outfits, including dresses! These Veja were on repeat all season, and are the French girl classic sneaker. Check out these new gold Veja’s – so cool! A couple of months ago, I splurged on a pair of Golden Goose, and have found them to be the perfect sneaker. If you want to go a little sportier, there’s always the Tretorn, or my favorite – the Daybreak sneaker. Find one or two you love, and you’ll wear them day and night!

#4 Great basic heel

Blank NYC leather blazer | Mother denim | Prada heels

I really can’t think of another shoe that makes every single outfit look amazing. Leg lengthening and classic, a neutral colored pump works with everything, any time of year. These Prada splurges have been a go-to for several years, and believe it or not, are quite comfy! If you want a lower heel, but still really stylish, check out this one. Find a good basic and I’m certain you’ll wear it all the time!

#5 Slide sandals

ATM cardigan | Mother denim  | Shopbop sandals | Frame cami

If you’ve been following me for awhile, you’ll recognize these favorite sandals that also seem to work with everything. Yes, winter is coming, but I’ll still wear these if I have any kind of event (doubtful) and just layer up with a good coat and scarf. If it’s raining, opt for something else 🙂 Stay warm!

#6 Slippers

I snuck these in because lets face it, it’s our new reality. I’ve been wearing these daily since last March, and they’re cute and comfy. These Uggs get good reviews, and why not get another color to spice up your loungewear while working from home?
