You all loved my 10 best fashion purchases this year … so here are my top ten beauty purchases of the year, with a little home décor thrown in. You’ll want to try some of these, they’re the very best!

I know, ouch 😊 But I want you to know that if I’m talking about them here it’s because I really really love them, and therefore it’s my duty to share them with you. I do make a small commission when you click and make a purchase, so thank you for shopping through this blog. It’s what keeps this whole exciting adventure going strong!

P.S. We’ve had a little explosion of growth lately so if you’re new around here and want to stay up to date on all things stylish and the bound-to-sell-out items we ALL need, then subscribe here and never miss a post!

#1 Makeup brushes

Ponzi Vineyard & Nordstrom event, Spring 2019

I can’t lie, this is an area where I tend to not spend much money. Don’t tell anyone, but some of my brushes are years old. How embarrassing! So, I finally decided to splurge on a few new ones, and wow — why did I wait so long? This concealer brush is a game changer, (I called it a magic brush and wrote about it here).  And I just picked up this soft eyeshadow brush and this blush brush. Now I feel like a grown up when applying makeup!

#2 SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic serum

Awhile back, I wrote about Vitamin C serums and shared valuable anti-aging tips from my dear friend, Dr Lauren Bordeaux. At the time, I hadn’t tried this beauty favorite, SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic serum, that literally every dermatologist uses and recommends. Well now I have, and it’s a winner! According to Dr. Lauren, the trick is finding a formulation that has more than 10% Vitamin C. This one has 15% pure Vitamin C. It’s a little spendy, but it’s the only thing in my own beauty arsenal that’s this expensive. You won’t be sorry! And I just noticed it’s 20% off here, for a few days only.

#3 Anthropologie mirror

Many of you have recently noticed that I’ve been working on my Instagram office. This mirror was a splurge, but totally worth it — it makes the entire space. This Instagram favorite mirror comes in three sizes and two finishes, and is a top rated item on the Anthropologie website. I’d go as far as to say make room for this gorgeous mirror, you’ll be so happy you did!

#4 Makeup organizer and packing cubes

So Susie Wright

Cosmetic travel case | Valentino sandals | Packing cubes

This is a double header because they are both SO GOOD! I’m not the most orderly person around, so both of these are really easy ways to get organized with very little effort. They have been on every trip I’ve taken this year. I’ve written so many times about the packing cubes, read here and here. The cosmetics organizer was an Amazon purchase, and everything I need fits in it perfectly. And while it’s not that pretty, it is super functional and I appreciate the $25 price tag. Recently I noticed that it’s available in pink, which I might prefer over black!

#5 Tom Ford Soleil Blanc

Soleil Blanc was a new addition this year and I can’t seem to get enough of it. The love affair started in Hawaii this year when I tried out the body spray. I came home and immediately added the travel size perfume for only $60, and then last week I bought myself a little pressie, the perfume bottle. This award winning fragrance, oozing with sex appeal, is a warm floral scent that reminds you of hot summer sun. It gets a lot of great reviews. I highly recommend trying something from this collection.

#6 Personalized phone case

The Daily Edited Phone case | J.Crew cardigan | Mother jeans

I’ve been eyeing these phone cases for some time, and I finally purchased one. Why did I wait so long? Because I couldn’t decide what color and font to get! I absolutely love it, and the packaging it came in was rea pretty. Great for yourself or for a gift.

#7 Dash Egg Cooker

Dash Egg Cooker

I’m sorry if I’m starting to sound like an infomercial! 😂 This was seriously the BEST $20 I’ve ever spent, and based on everyone’s messages and dm’s, it’s a top selling item off the blog. See my homemade IGVT infomercial here.

#8 Pottery Barn flameless candles

Pottery Barn flameless candle on the mantle

I’ve gone on and on about these too. I love candles, and on most days have a couple of them lit up, but there are a few places in my house where I want the ambiance without the fuss. These are amazing! Not only do they look real, but there’s a remote available that is so handy. We used these all throughout summer and are using them now in winter too. Try two to begin with, and I bet you’ll add more after you see how nice (and easy) they are!

#9 Supergoop!

Supergoop!

This is the only sunscreen I’m purchasing these days because I love their story and what they stand for. In a nutshell, their products (like the misting spray and setting powder) are truly unique — and all the ingredients are natural. Check out their website here.

#10 Travel Minis

Speaking of cosmetics, did you know that Nordstrom has a whole selection on mini (travel) sized beauty products? There are 752 items! See below for some of my favorites. I’m sure many of you have a separate travel toiletry case with duplicates of all your necessities … but I didn’t — until now! I found my favorite mascara, deodorant and even foundation in travel sizes, and am working toward a fully stocked bag to grab and go when traveling in the future. So efficient.
