Travel gifts that are actually useful!

Susie Wright, Ravello Italy

Hi friends!  I’m not really back in Italy, but I sure wish I was! Today is “Travel Tuesday” — I didn’t know this was a thing until this morning. Apparently Tuesday is the best day to book travel, so take note for your next trip! (I know it’s Wednesday, sorry I wrote this yesterday and published late!)

In the meantime, since most of us are thinking about gifts for loved ones and/or booking travel, I thought I’d use Travel Tuesday as the perfect opportunity to share some amazing gift ideas I’ve been carefully compiling. Consider these for anyone on your list or just pick up a thing or two for yourself, like PACKING CUBES!!  You’ll be so happy you did!

P.S. AND … since we’re in the midst of gift-giving season, and covering all the upcoming sales and deals, you won’t want to miss ANY posts.  You can SUBSCRIBE HERE – you’ll be the first to know, and you’ll be in the know!

Keep reading for a little travel inspo and gift ideas for all!

Get inspired

Most everyone loves a good coffee table book, and beautiful ones like these make lovely gifts.  I’m particularly fond of the Italy book by the famous photographer Grey Malin. Jake and I stayed in the charming village of Positano, pictured on front cover. It will make anyone reading it dream of an Italian vacation!

Get comfy

1. Frame denim jacket | 2. Vuori joggers | 3. Cashmere scarf | 4. Superga sneakers | 5. Cozy socks | 6. Swell bottle | 7. Bose earphones | 8. Charlotte Tilbury face mask | 9. ATM tee | 10. Herbivore face mist | 11. Valentino sandals

These Vuori joggers have been a huge hit and everyone is loving them – I highly, highly recommend you grab a pair or two! You will wonder how you lived without joggers! For long flights, I bring this pillow, and on our last trip, I tried this inflatable foot rest which ended up not really working out for me (but you might like it)!  This cashmere silk scarf is a favorite at home, and I bring it on every trip, along with these cozy socks.  If no one is looking, try this face mask on the plane for a quick 15 minutes. I heard it works wonders and helps you look refreshed when you land!

Durable luggage, a tote and a passport holder are key

I personally love CALPAK suitcases because of the pretty colors offered, the reasonable prices and the ease of finding it in  baggage claim. I’ve written about them here.  Longchamp is known for durability, and this tote gets 5 star reviews.  Lastly, having a zip-around passport holder is so handy. I wanted this one before our Italy trip but it wasn’t available, so it’s once again in my shopping bag!

How to pack cosmetics and jewelry

Talk about traveling in style! I’ve had my eye on these personalized mini jewelry cases, and they come in many colors and monogramming options. This cosmetic organizer is amazing and and has served its purpose nicely on all the trips I’ve taken lately. This cosmetic case is a little prettier, and would be a perfect gift especially as a set with the CALPAK suitcase. Anyone would be thrilled with any of these useful travel items!

Packing Cubes

I know, I know I keep going on and on about these. Just yesterday someone asked me if I honestly really love them. The answer? YES! I can’t say enough about them. If you don’t own packing cubes you’re missing out!  They help keep you organized, the amount of things you can fit in your suitcase is incredible, and they make a great gift. I own these, and I purchased these for my son. He dutifully uses them now and says he’ll never go back to “just throwing things in his suitcase.” Ha! Happy travels.

Travel minis

Travel minis might be one of my favorite things to purchase, and not just for travel. They make amazing stocking stuffers for any of our loved ones. And, if you’ve been wanting to try something new, purchasing a body cream or fragrance in a smaller size (bonus: less expensive) is a great idea! There are many options, see them all here.
