One simple trick to help you feel put together

ONE SIMPLE TRICK TO HELP YOU FEEL PUT TOGETHER

This simple trick will help you feel put together.  What is it, you ask?  Well, it’s taking a mirror selfie of yourself! 😂 It probably sounds a little silly, but let me tell you, if you have a special lunch date or a fun evening coming up, I highly recommend trying it. There’s something about seeing a photo of your outfit, complete with jewelry and shoes, to help you quickly tell if something looks good – or doesn’t.

THIS IS WHY I’M TRYING SOMETHING DIFFERENT TODAY!!

Today’s post is different from others in that all photos are recent mirror selfies of outfits I love. I’ve never considered using them on a blog post before, because the truth is, there’s no comparison to the beautiful photography by my talented friend Carrie Minns. But here’s the deal … I actually don’t see her that often (even though some think she follows me around 😂) And there are a lot of great outfits I’d love to share, so here goes!

iPHONE MIRROR SELFIES!!

Not perfectly edited, not perfectly posed or put together, but definitely real life. A little messy and a little imperfect. My favorite spot to take selfies at home is my office, because the lighting is always good. And those who know me understand the clutter that I will get to … one day soon!!

#1 Paige blouse and Levi’s Icon wedgie

Paige blouse here and here | Levi’s Icon Wedgie Jean | Vince Mule

Paige has been producing some of the best collection pieces lately. I especially love all the blouses (I wrote about one here), and this dress is so pretty! I’m wearing a size 26 in these new Levi’s that have cool side-slits and distressed knees (I thought I was done buying distressed denim!),  finished off with these new favorite Vince mules.  They are on the high side, but I’ve found them comfortable enough to run around in all day!!

#2 ALLSAINTS pink splatter sweatshirt

ALLSAINTS splatter sweatshirt | Levi’s Icon Wedgie (I cut mine – they might still be too long) | Valentino Flip Flops

This ALLSAINTS sweatshirt has been my day off favorite (wearing xs), and these Levi Icon Wedgie jeans too!  I’m wearing a size 25 (I’m NEVER a 25).  The Icon Wedgie runs a bit slimmer then the Wedgie, which works better for me since I’m 5’1.  The Valentino flip flops run slightly small, and only come in whole sizes, so keep in mind when ordering them.

#3 Eliza J. Dress

ElizaJ. Dress | Vince Camuto shoes | Roxanne Assoulin earrings

This dress is very well priced at $138, and definitely looks like a designer dress.  Same with the shoes!  I’ve been eyeing jewelry by Roxanne Assouline here and here, and finally found the perfect excuse to purchase these earrings.  And you will love this cult- favorite bracelet, I promise!

#4 Alex Mill blouse and skirt

Alex Mill skirt and blouse | Staud Shirley bag, bigger here | Valentino flip flop

The brand Alex Mill is new to me, it’s currently managed by a few former J.Crew designers.  I spotted this shirt and matching skirt recently, and thought they would be perfect to wear all summer.  The skirt is super cute with a white cotton tank top. And, of course the Staud bag goes with absolutely everything!  I’ve written about it here and here.

#5 Reformation Dress

Reformation dress | Vince mule | Jeffrey Campbell wedge | Staud bag, bigger here

Reformation makes the prettiest linen and printed dresses, which are ideal for taller and slender body types.  Many styles are very slim cut and don’t work if you have any bit of a tummy (like me!) Above you can see my two different shoes — this is where a mirror selfie comes in handy.  After checking my outfit in a photo, I decided to go with the clear Jeffrey Campbell ones!
