Here in Portland it’s going to be beautiful and (mostly) sunny, which makes for a perfect Mother’s Day! A little pampering is in order, along with some family time and good food, and of course anything to do with gardening and flowers. To me it all sounds wonderful and relaxing!
But let’s get back to pampering, because hey, any excuse for that — and we all deserve it! Personally, I’m pretty good at it 😉. Maybe it’s the only child syndrome in me, which I’ve been accused of over the years (it’s not my fault!). Whatever the reason, I have some great ideas to share on how we can all take care of ourselves. Warning: it might include a little self gifting. I’m pretty good at that too!! So this Mother’s Day, pamper yourself.
Ten Pampering and/or Self Gifting ideas
#1 flowers
There’s really nothing better than pretty flowers on your table, in your bedroom, anywhere. Nothing fancy. Something from your garden, potted flowers, branches … you get the idea. This is the perfect excuse to make sure you have a container you love. I might be a little obsessed with pots, vases, containers, etc! A favorite website worth checking out is Terrain. They have great containers like this wicker one, and these aged terracotta pots look like they’re from the French countryside. You can’t go wrong — if you really like it, it’ll work everywhere!
#2 Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial
I pay attention to ANYTHING that gets Allure’s Best of Beauty Award. So when I read about the Babyfacial here, I knew at some point I’d give it a shot. It’s an in-home peel that leaves you with a “brighter complexion and a subtle glow.” If you’ve tried it, please leave a comment below!
#3 Slip silk pillowcase and silk eye mask
There’s a reason why this silk pillowcase and eye mask always seem to make top gifting lists. This industry favorite brand uses the finest quality Mulbery silk, is hypoallergenic and is said to be anti-aging and anti-frizz. I have wanted these both for so long! (These silk hair ties are in my basket) Maybe someone in my family will take note, and surprise me.
#4 Le Labo
I know, for those of you who’ve been following me for awhile, you’ve heard me go on and on about this candle (Santal 26) and the fragrance (Santal 33). I’m bringing it up again because my own candle has burned to the bottom, which means it’s time to replenish!! Trust me, this candle is worth buying. (If you end up not loving it as much as I do, let me know and I’ll take it off your hands!) And if you don’t want to commit to the fragrance, start out with the lotion. #5 white watch
I guess most of us don’t really need to wear a watch any more, but I still do because I consider it jewelry. And a watch looks so elegant when paired with your favorite bracelets, which is why adding a white watch is perfect as we head into warmer months. Since white accessories are having a moment this season, I also think it’s timely!! Of course I love this Michele white and gold watch, and how fun is this Lacoste style?

This UK brand is a favorite of mine that I’ve written about here and here. I recently wrote about these signature bracelets which I absolutely love. I recently purchased this cosmetics travel case which I love love. But after seeing this Calpak one in the same rose gold as my beloved carry on, I was kind of wishing I had done a little more research!!
