Any excuse I can use to research new beauty products, I’m on it. And since many of my friends and clients tend to head somewhere sunny for Spring break, it’s the perfect occasion to stock up on your favorite beauty items — and of course try a few new ones!
I feel particularly fortunate to work very closely with beauty experts, which allows me insight into some pretty amazing products. And since I’m a bit of a beauty junkie myself, I try everything first and report to you all my findings!
the best sunscreen
I’m in love with the brand Supergoop! I wrote about it in this post last summer, and I’ve just purchased the Sunscreen Mist with Vitamin C, the Everyday Sunscreen, and the super hydrating Glow Stick … all of which I’ll be packing for our everyday family sun protection. I’m also bringing my favorite setting powder by Supergoop! It takes the shine away, and has an SPF of 45, I described it here. Not only is it all natural, but the passion Supergoop! Founder Holly Thaggard has for sun protection is so inspiring!
Three makeup items for an easy, daily routine
I typically prefer to keep things simple and usually don’t even wear mascara (in Portland it’s non-negotiable), but in the event I feel like putting in the effort (wink), I’ll start with the Amorepacific Cushion Compact SPF 25, add a little Dior Addict Lip Gloss (a new discovery this week, thank you Ashley), and finish with the Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick by Bobbi Brown. It won’t move for at least 8 hours, probably longer! And of course waterproof mascara in the rare event I decide to dive in!!

You’ve heard me go on about the addictive Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, and this year I’m adding the Soleil Blanc Shimmering Body Oil, which leaves your skin super soft and silky. I also love this Creed Virgin Island Water perfume, an enticing blend of lime and coconut that’s the perfect fragrance for vacation. And finally, the delicious Acquadi Parma Eau De Toilette, a revitalizing scent that will remind you of Italy.
