Having the perfect LBD or LBJ (Little Black Jumpsuit) could be one of the most important elements of your wardrobe.  The key: it must fit perfectly and, more importantly, be something you feel really great wearing. Knowing you look good in an outfit always makes you feel more confident and stylish.  And you will be ready for any event!

Take for example this LBJ I purchased last year … for $98!  I wore it to an auction last spring, a summer evening reception, and now I plan to wear it this New Year’s Eve with party shoes and dangly statement earrings … if I’m not home in pjs that is!!  My dear friend Heidi Semler opted for this simple black sheath dress adorned with feathers, a luxe detail seen everywhere this season!

Why is the LBD so important?

The fresh take LBJ

Turns out the LBJ can be just as elegant, or casual, as the staple LBD. Jumpsuits are a little more party oriented.  I’m in love with this strapless version, and this sheer-sleeved style with subtle back slits is sexy and sophisticated.

Simple black dresses

The simple LBD will take you from a day time luncheon to drinks after work to an evening on the town.  Look for simple details, as with the LBJ.

Special black dresses

Special black dresses might have a little lace detail or a longer length, and can be worn to more elegant events with strappy sandals and sparkly jewelry.  Finding one you love is guaranteed to get a lot of wear over the years to come!
