The Houndstooth check is one of those timeless patterns that has come and gone through the years, but now it’s showing up everywhere again. Thank you to Louis Vuitton, Off White and other designers that are presenting houndstooth in new, modern ways.

The brand Off White, designed by Virgil Abloh, is a luxury streetwear label.  For the Pre-Fall ’18 collection, the bold houndstooth pattern showed up in several edgy styles, like this dress and jacket.  I especially love the belted jacket and short skirt, shown here on this very stylish blogger.

How do I incorporate the trend into my current wardrobe?

Because it’s black and white, it will work with most everything we already own.  Take a cue from Off White and try a brightly colored belt, or add a pointy to pump like the Manolo Blahnik in the above photo.  This shoe could take you from work directly to a night out on the town; just add denim and a leather jacket.  And easier yet, try throwing on an inexpensive scarf like this; the colors will play nicely with grey, black, cream or white.  Today’s houndstooth is a little bit edgier, but still polished.
