I’ve been having my own bra issues lately, everything from peeking straps to lack of strapless support to finding a racerback (come to find out they are being phased out). So, after doing my own personal research (thank you Rose), I’ve come up with a couple of recommendations on where to start. Since many of us are wearing ill-fitting bras, go GET FITTED by a professional. Then, pick up the four basics that will work for any wardrobe.
The Essentials
T-shirt bra, Strapless bra, Balconette bra, Bandeau bra
I just purchased the Natori Pure Luxe T-shirt bra, and I swear I never thought a bra could be this comfortable. The smooth, wide band eliminates the dreaded “back fat” — brilliant!!
I also love the Wacoal Red Carpet Convertible Strapless bra, which actually comes with straps so you can wear it with a halter top, crossed in back or conventionally.
A balconette bra is feminine and sexy. Usually unlined and made of lace, it has wider-set straps so it can stay hidden under the most plunging of necklines. The Wacol b. tempt’d is the one I just added to my lingerie drawer!
A bandeau is an option to a strapless bra and the perfect option for weekend comfort. It doesn’t give a lot of support, but it’s super comfy.By the way, matching sets of lace bras and panties are super feminine and a secret way to feel a little sexy, even during the day.
